A SAGAN SAGA

by K.A.U.

VOYAGER II – A SAGAN SAGA was developed parallel to the performance VOYAGER I and deals with the question of the intersection of scientific and artistic modes of representation. The selection of sounds and images on the Voyager Golden Record was made by a team led by pop astronomer and „father“ of the album: Carl Sagan. In the radio play VOYAGER – A SAGAN SAGA, Carl Sagan becomes the protagonist of a fictional origin story of the Voyager Golden Record. The radio play became part of a performative audio walk through the Natural History Museum in Bern. Participants were invited to discover the darkest rooms of the museum, accompanied by sounds and performers.
